Privacy Policy
Daily Tai Chi (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a guided Tai Chi and gentle-movement wellness app. This policy explains what information the App handles and how.
- No account, name, email, or login is required to use the App.
- Your onboarding answers and progress are stored on your device, encrypted.
- We collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics and crash reports — no personal identifiers.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details.
1. Information stored on your device
When you use the App, the following is stored locally on your device (in encrypted storage) and is not transmitted to us:
- Wellness profile inputs you provide: age range, gender, experience level, general health considerations, height/weight, your goals, and schedule.
- Your generated practice program, day-to-day progress, streak, and saved moves.
- Your reminder and audio preferences.
Because all of this lives only on your device, uninstalling the App permanently erases it — there is no server-side copy to delete.
2. Analytics and crash reporting
To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, we collect anonymous, aggregated event data and crash diagnostics through Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics). Examples: which onboarding step was viewed, which motivation was selected, that a session started or completed. These events:
- contain no name, email, contact details, or precise location;
- are tied only to an anonymous, app-generated identifier;
- may include an approximate location (city/country level) that Firebase derives from a masked IP address — we never collect precise location;
- are used solely in aggregate to improve the product.
Firebase’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can limit analytics on iOS via Settings → Privacy → Tracking, and on Android via your device’s ad/analytics settings.
3. Subscriptions and payments
Premium features are offered via auto-renewing subscriptions with an introductory free trial. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We receive only an anonymous entitlement status (subscribed / not subscribed). We never receive or store your card number, billing address, or Apple/Google account details. Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not use the App’s data for third-party advertising.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location.
- The App is not a medical device and provides no medical advice; your wellness inputs only tailor gentle-movement guidance.
5. Children
The App is intended for adults (and is designed with older adults in mind). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
6. Your rights
Because your personal inputs live only on your device, you control them directly: view them in the App, change them, or delete them entirely by uninstalling the App. Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
