Privacy Policy
Daily Tai Chi (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a guided Tai Chi and gentle-movement wellness app. This policy explains what information the App handles and how.
- No account, name, email, or login is required to use the App.
- Your onboarding answers and progress are stored on your device, encrypted.
- We collect usage analytics, crash reports, and install-attribution data tied to anonymous, app-generated identifiers — never your name or email.
- Some data (including your IP address and an anonymous install ID) is sent to Google and to our own analytics endpoint; details below.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google; purchase validation and subscription status use RevenueCat as a service provider — we never see your payment details.
1. Information stored on your device
When you use the App, the following is stored locally on your device (in encrypted storage) and is not transmitted to us:
- Wellness profile inputs you provide: age range, gender, experience level, general health considerations, height/weight, your goals, and schedule.
- Your generated practice program, day-to-day progress, streak, and saved moves.
- Your reminder and audio preferences.
Because all of this lives only on your device, uninstalling the App permanently erases it — there is no server-side copy of these inputs to delete.
2. Analytics and crash reporting
To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, we collect anonymous, aggregated event data and crash diagnostics through Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics). Examples: which onboarding step was viewed, which motivation was selected, that a session started or completed. These events:
- contain no name, email, contact details, or precise location;
- are tied only to an anonymous, app-generated identifier;
- may include an approximate location (city/country level) that Firebase derives from a masked IP address — we never collect precise location;
- are used solely in aggregate to improve the product.
Firebase’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. Install attribution and marketing measurement
To measure which channels bring people to the App and to understand how our
marketing and subscription offers perform, the App includes our own
mobile measurement (attribution) component. When enabled, it sends
the following to an analytics endpoint we operate at
https://ingest.ichime.dev/:
- a persistent, randomly-generated install identifier (a UUID created on first launch — not your name, email, or device serial);
- basic device/technical data: platform (iOS/Android), OS version, app version, and the device’s IP address (used to approximate country/region and to match installs to marketing campaigns);
- install and attribution signals (e.g. that the App was installed, and, where available, the campaign it came from);
- subscription lifecycle and revenue events — that a free trial started, that a subscription was purchased, and the associated price and currency reported by the store — so we can measure conversion. These carry the product identifier and amount, not your payment details.
This endpoint is controlled by Revolution Sport Company Limited and is not sold or shared for third-party advertising. On Apple devices, this measurement also uses Apple’s privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork where applicable. See Section 6 — Your choices and consent for how this is gated by region and how to opt out.
4. Streaming of practice videos
Move demonstration videos and their preview images are streamed on demand from
Google Cloud Storage (storage.googleapis.com). Like any
request to a web server, fetching a video exposes your device’s IP address
and standard request metadata to Google as the hosting provider. We do not attach your
identity to these requests; Google’s handling is governed by
Google’s Privacy Policy. The App may
also cache videos on your device (which you can clear in Settings) to reduce repeat
downloads.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Premium features are offered via auto-renewing subscriptions with an introductory free trial. Payment is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play — we never receive or store your card number, billing address, or Apple/Google account details.
To validate purchases and manage subscription status (including price and paywall experiments), we use RevenueCat, Inc. as a service provider. When you start a trial, purchase, or restore a subscription, the App sends the store purchase receipt to RevenueCat, which returns your entitlement status (subscribed / not subscribed). RevenueCat receives the anonymized purchase receipt, the product identifier and its price/currency, basic device and platform data, your IP address, and an anonymous, app-generated user identifier — not your name, email, or Apple/Google account. RevenueCat processes this only on our behalf to operate subscriptions; it is not used for third-party advertising. Its handling is governed by RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. (As noted in Section 3, the fact that a trial or purchase occurred, plus its price/currency, is also used for anonymous conversion measurement.)
6. Your choices and consent
Where the law requires opt-in consent before non-essential data collection — notably the EEA/UK under GDPR — the App detects the applicable region on your device and does not send attribution or analytics events until consent is granted. If you are in a region that requires consent and you have not granted it, install-attribution and analytics events are withheld on your device.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): measurement is off until you consent; you can withdraw consent at any time, after which we stop collecting further events.
- California and similar (CCPA/CPRA): you may opt out of the “sale”/“sharing” of personal information — we do not sell your data, and you can opt out of measurement.
- Everywhere: on iOS you can limit tracking via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android via your device’s ads/privacy settings. You can also clear cached videos in the App’s Settings.
To exercise any of these rights, or to request deletion of data associated with your anonymous install identifier, contact us using the details in Section 10.
7. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location.
- We do not use your wellness inputs for advertising.
- The App is not a medical device and provides no medical advice; your wellness inputs only tailor gentle-movement guidance.
8. Children
The App is intended for adults (and is designed with older adults in mind). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
